SRH vs KKR – IPL 2022: Rahul Tripathi pays back his former team
SRH vs KKR – Match 25 – IPL 2022 Report: Sunrisers recorded their third consecutive win of the tournament – thanks to an all round show by bowlers and batsmen alike.
KKR were reduced to 31/3 in 4.3 overs as T Natarajan struck twice in the first three balls of his spell. Nitish Rana along with captain Shreyas Iyer repaired the innings before the brutal pace of Umran Malik removed the KKR captain and Sheldon Jackson.
Umran Malik conceded just 2 runs to the dangerous Andre Russell in his final over. Nitish Rana brought up his 14th half century in IPL while Russell pumped up the run flow in slog overs, smacking a unbeaten 49 at a strike rate of 196.00 to power his team to 175-8 in 20 overs.
Sunrisers lost their opener Abhishek Sharma early at the score of 3 runs in 1.4 overs. Captain Kane Williamson and Rahul Tripathi rotated strike but a mistimed pull cost the wicket of SRH captain at the score at 39 in 5.2 overs.
Rahul Tripathi took the air out of KKR attack as he blasted his maiden fifty for SRH in just 21 balls. He welcomed Varun Chakravarthy with a 4,6,6 in his first over. He went on to smack a six and four off his next over and brought up his half century. Chakravarthy had a forgetful night conceding 45 runs in his 3 overs spell.
Aiden Markram continued the run flow after Tripathi’s exit. He along with Tripathi put on a 94-run stand for the third wicket in just 9 overs. Markram finished the match with a 4, 6 & 6 off Pat Cummins. SRH crossed the lined in just 17.5 overs.
