SRH vs GT – IPL 2022 – Sunrisers hand Gujarat their first loss
SRH vs GT – Match 21 – IPL 2022 Report: Gujarat Titans lost their first match in IPL history to a in form Sunrisers unit. Earlier Gujarat put 162 runs on board. Hardik Pandya recorded his slowest IPL half-century in 42 balls.
Needing 163 runs to win, SRH opener Abhishek Sharma and Kane Williamson were off to a slow start scoring just 11 runs in the first four overs bowled by Mohammed Shami and Hardik Pandya. The pressure was released the very next over from Shami which went for 14 runs and the the subsequent over by Lockie Ferguson which went for 17 runs with the help of 4 fours including three back-to-back boundaries by Abhishek Sharma to welcome Lockie in to the attack.
Kane Williamson recorded his first IPL half-century this season before falling to opponent captain Hardik Pandya’s slower delivery. Rahul Tripathi left the field after pulling a muscle, moments after hitting Rahul Tewatia for a six. Nicholas Pooran walked in to replace Tripathi and smacked a 18 ball-34 with the help of 2 fours & 2 sixes to help SRH to a thumping win!
