England Cricket unveil T20 kit
England became the first team to unveil their team jersey for this year’s ICC T20 World Cup. The T20I kits are designed for the Men, Disability, Pathway and Women’s teams.
The new energetic and stylish look got fans going gaga for the new kit.
“The three lions are at the heart of the bespoke kit design, which will be worn by the England men’s team at the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup this Autumn and the women’s team in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in 2023,” the ECB said.
In fact, it was some of the key England Cricket Team members – Jofra Archer and Jos Buttler of the men’s team, Katie George of the women’s and Chris Edwards of the learning disability team – who were involved with Castore (the manufacturer) in the making of this stimulating outfit that has got everyone drooling over it. They helped the designers “choose features and fabrics that will elevate player’s performance on the field”.
“It is a really exciting time for us as a squad with the Men’s T20 World Cup coming up later this year. We’d love to take the trophy home and we’ll be ready to perform at our best thanks to the new Castore IT20 kit.” , Jos Buttler said.
The jersey is crafted from a high-stretch and recycled poly elastane blend that allows freedom of movement for the cricketers that a conventional garment would not. The underarm mesh panels will keep the athletes cool and focused on field.
This kit lays out the aims of Castore and ECB’s joint initiative clearly, by providing England Cricket Team players and supporters with kit that is rooted in sportswear technology and innovation.
England Cricket team is set to host New Zealand for 2 Tests – after which they will host India and South Africa across formats. They will then fly down under for the T20 World Cup.
England were knocked out of semi-finals of the 2021 edition of T20 World Cup.
