MI vs RR – Match 9 – IPL 2022 Report: Jos Buttler became the first batsman to register a century in IPL 2022 and it came in a winning cause for Rajasthan Royals. Jasprit Bumrah returned to form with a 3 wicket haul along with Tymal Mills as Rajasthan set a target of 194 runs.
Chasing 194 to win, Mumbai Indians lost Rohit Sharma and Anmolpreet Singh in the powerplay. Left handed duo Ishan Kishan and season debutant Tilak Verma registered half-centuries to bring Mumbai closer to the score. Tilak scored 61 runs in just 33 balls as he brought up his maiden IPL fifty in majestic style. Royals made a quick come back with the help of Boult-Ashwin-Chahal striking quick wickets that jolted the MI chase. Yuzvendra Chahal picked 2 wickets in 2 balls but missed out on a hattrick as substitute fielder Karun Nair dropped the catch of Murugan Ashwin in the slips. RR picked up a 23 run win!
