RCB vs PBKS, Match 60 – IPL 2022 Report: After being put to bat, Punjab King opener Jonny Bairstow provided the team a great launch pad with his heroics in the powerplay. Bairstow welcomed Josh Hazlewood with 2 fours & 2 sixes in his first over of the day – a 22 run over from Hazlewood to begin with. Punjab Kings raced to 50 in just 3.5 overs. Dhawan started slow but caught up with a six and 2 fours during his stay until Maxwell bowled him out!

Bairstow closed the powerplay with 1 four & 3 sixes off Mohammed Siraj’s over. Punjab Kings posted 83-1 in powerplay – Bairstow scored 59 runs out of it in just 22 balls. Wanindu Hasaranga who was smacked by his Sri Lankan counter part Bhanuka Rajapaksa in the first leg. between Punjab and Bangalore, sought vengeance when Rajapaksa mis timed a loft which edged towards short third man.

Shahbaz Ahmed got rid of Jonny Bairstow for 66 off 29 balls as Punjab Kings were reduced to 101-3 in 9.1 overs. Liam Livingstone took over the show from Bairstow. Wanindu Hasaranga and Harshal Patel were the pick of RCB bowlers who kept picking wickets at regular intervals as Livingstone held firm.

Livingstone smacked a 70 off 42 balls and sent off Hazlewood with bowling figures of 4-0-64-0 by smacking 2 fours and 2 sixes in his final over. Punjab posted 209-9 in 20 overs.

Chasing 210 runs to win, RCB were 31-0 in 3 overs with Virat Kohli looking in great touch. PBKS introduced Kagiso Rabada in to the attack and he removed Virat Kohli in just the second delivery he bowled. The very next over Rishi Dhawan removed Faf du Plessis and Mahipal Lomror in a span of 4 deliveries reducing RCB to 40-3 in 4.5 overs.

Glenn Maxwell and Rajat Patidar put on a 64-run stand for the fourth wicket in 6.1 overs to bring back Bangalore right back in to the contest. Rahul Chahar removed Patidar whole Harpreet Brar removed Glenn Maxwell in a span of 3 deliveries. Dinesh Karthik and Shahbaz couldn’t get the run flow going and soon RCB submitted to their fate.

Rabada picked 3 wickets to spell doom to the RCB innings which finished at 155-9 in 20 overs. This was Punjab Kings’ 100th win in Indian Premier League.
