SRH vs LSG – Match 12 – IPL 2022 Report: Lucknow Super Giants recorded their second straight win in IPL 2022.
After being put to bat, Lucknow lost their overseas top order batters Quinton de Kock and Evin Lewis early – both falling to off spinner Washington Sundar in the powerplay. Soon after Manish Pandey fell to Romario Shepherd trap reducing LSG to 27/3 in 4.5 overs. Captain KL Rahul and Deepak Hooda put on a 87-run stand for the fourth wicket in 10.2 overs to rescue the team. Rahul top scored for the team which helped to put a decent total on board.
Chasing 170 runs to win, SRH lost both their openers Kane Williamson (16) and Abhishek Sharma (13) in the powerplay to the brilliance of Avesh Khan.Rahul Tripathi and Aiden Markram put on a 44 run stand to put SRH in a advantageous position. Krunal Pandya struck in the 11th over to remove Markram. Krunal also removed Rahul Tripathi who was looking in great touch, 2 overs later.
Pooran and Washington Sundar put on a 48 run stand to power SRH towards the total. Avesh Khan returned to bowl his final over and removed Pooran and Samad in back to back deliveries. AJ Tye executed his death over skills which meant 16 runs were required to win in the final over. Jason Holder playing his first IPL match of the season, bowled the 20th over conceding just 3 runs and picked 3 wickets, helping LSG to yet another win in IPL 2022!
