RCB vs MI – Match 18 – IPL 2022 Report: Royal Challengers Bangalore continued their winning run and handed Mumbai Indians their fourth consecutive loss in IPL 2022.
Earlier Mumbai Indians were reduced to 79/6 after a 50-run opening stand between Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan. Suryakumar Yadav came to the rescue with a scintillating knock as he partnered with Jaydev Unadkat to put on an unbeaten stand of 72-runs for the seventh wicket which helped Mumbai Indians to 151/6 in their full quote of overs.
RCB started steadily in the chase with captain Faf du Plessis scoring just 16 in 24 balls before falling to Jaidev Unadkat. Anuj Rawat and Virat Kohli took away the match from Mumbai Indians with a 80-run partnership in 8.4 overs. Rawat brought up his maiden IPL half-century. He scored 6 sixes in his knock. Virat Kohli fell two runs short of his half-century as he was adjudged LBW by a debatable decision by the third umpire Ulhas Gandhe. Kohli became Dewald Brevis’ first ever IPL wicket.
Glenn Maxwell steered his team to victory with two back to back boundaries and announced his return to IPL.
