DC vs PBKS – Match 32 – IPL 2022 Report: Delhi Capitals recorded a huge win in IPL 2022 as they chased down the target with 57 balls remaining. This match was originally set to be played in Pune but due to Covid scare in Delhi camp, the match got shifted to Mumbai. Capitals’ cricketers Mitchell Marsh and Tim Seifert tested positive to Covid-19.
Earlier captain Rishabh Pant put Punjab Kings to bat but nothing went Mayank Agarwal’s team way! They were soon reduced to 54/4 in 6.4 overs. Axar Patel bowled with accuracy and got the big wickets of Liam Livingstone and Jitesh Sharma to totally bog down the opposition. Kuldeep Yadav went for runs in his first two overs but came back well conceded just 7 runs in his last over overs and picked 2 wickets off the last 3 balls he bowled. Punjab could only manage 115 runs in their full quota of overs.
Chasing 116 to win, Delhi Capitals openers Prithvi Shaw and David Warner showed no mercy. They recorded the highest score in powerplay in IPL 2022 – 81 runs. Prithvi Shaw fell shortly after the powerplay, scoring a 205.00 strike rate powered 41. David Warner finished the proceedings as he registered his 53rd IPL half-century!
To every one’s surprise Kuldeep Yadav was adjudged the Player of the Match by adjudicator Kevin Pietersen as he was impressed with his accuracy on the night. Kuldeep Yadav opined this award should be shared with Axar Patel.
