AJ Tye replaces Mark Wood in Lucknow Super Giants
Aussie pacer AJ Tye replaced injured English pacer Mark Wood in Lucknow Super Giants. Wood was ruled out of IPL 2022 with an elbow injury that he sustained during the first Test between West Indies and England in Antigua.
Andrew Tye is a seasoned T20 specialist who picked 251 wickets in 182 T20 matches at an average of 20.94. He has 2 five wicket hauls to his name with a best of 5-17. He also represented Australia in 7 ODIs and 32 T20 Internationals. He picked 47 wickets in 31 innings in T20Is for Australia.
The 35-year-old pacer has previously represented Kings XI Punjab, Gujarat Lions, Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals in Indian Premier League.
AJ Tye featured in 27 IPL matches and picked 40 wickets conceding 8.46 runs per over. He has a bowling average of 21.80 and a strike rate of 15.45. His career best of 5-17 was recorded in IPL.
Lucknow Super Giants will be led by KL Rahul who has the experience of leading Punjab Kings in the last two seaons. Super Giants will take on another IPL debutants Gujarat Titans in their first match on March 28 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
