Ahmedabad franchise pick Hardik Pandya and 2 others!
The Ahmedabad IPL franchise has announced their 3 sign ups ahead of the 2022 IPL Mega Auction. The franchise chose 2 Indians and 1 overseas cricketer to form their list of base players.
Hardik Pandya (India), Shubman Gill (India) and Rashid Khan (Afghanistan) have been named as Ahmedabad’s 3 sign ups. This puts end to the rumours that Lucknow IPL franchise is signing up the Afghanistan leg spinner.
Hardik and Rashid are being paid 15 crore INR while Shubman Gill is paid 7 crore INR.
Hardik Pandya has been named the captain of Ahmedabad franchise. Hardik featured in 92 IPL matches – all of which he played with his maiden franchise Mumbai Indians. Pandya scored 1476 runs at an average of 27.33 powered by a prolific strike rate of 153.91. He scored 4 half-centuries with a highest score of 91 runs to his name. He spanked 97 fours & 98 sixes in Indian Premier League. The Indian all-rounder also picked 42 wickets to his name at an average of 31.26 with a best of 3/20 to his name.
Shubman Gill played 58 IPL matches (all for KKR) scoring 1417 runs at an average of 31.48 powered by a strike rate of 123.00. He registered 10 half centuries with a high score of 76 runs to his name. He recorded 137 fours and 36 sixes in IPL.
Rashid Khan featured in 76 IPL matches so far. He played all the matches for his maiden franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad. He scored 222 runs at a strike rate of 137.03 and picked 93 wickets at an average of 20.55. The Afghan leggie boasts an economy rate of 6.33 in IPL history.
Ahmedabad Franchise Coaching Staff:
Surrey head coach and former England cricketer Vikram Solanki has been named the team director. Solanki was the first ever super sub used in ODI cricket history. The coaching staff has bee bolstered by the presence of Ashish Nehra and Gary Kirsten.
IPL Mega Auction date:
As per the official announcement by BCCI – the IPL Mega Auction 2022 will be heled at Bengaluru on 12th and 13th February after all the 10 teams have declared their final list of players.
