Sri Lanka vs West Indies Test series- Squads

Sri Lanka announced a 22-member squad for the two match Test series against West Indies at home.

The team will be led by Dimuth Karunaratne and has the likes of seniors Angelo Mathews, Suranga Lakmal and Dinesh Chandimal in it.

The players who missed out the cut include Lahiru Thirimanne, Niroshan Dickwella, Wanindu Hasaranga and Dasun Shanaka. They have been a part of Sri Lankan test squad for the series against Bangladesh early this year.

Dickwella is banned for breaching the bio-bubble early this year in England.

Sri Lankan batting star in T20 World Cup Charith Asalanka has been called up to the Test squad alongside Dushmanta Chameera who missed the previous Test series due to family commitment reasons. The other pacers in the side include Vishwa Fernando, Suranga Lakmal, Lahiru Kumara, Chamika Gunasekara and Chamika Karunaratne.

Meanwhile West Indies is going in to the Test series with a 15-member squad led by Kraigg Brathwaite.

West Indies Test Squad:

The first Test begins on November 21 at Galle. The second Test is scheduled to take place on November 29 at the same venue. The Test series is a part of ICC World Test Championship fixtures.

West Indies have never beaten Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka in Test history. Both teams played 11 Tests – Sri Lanka won 7 while 4 matches ended in a draw.

West Indies are currently ranked No.7 while Sri Lanka are ranked No.8 in ICC Test Team Rankings.
