IPL 2021 : RR V DC Preview & Probable XIs
RR V DC – HEAD TO HEAD : 22 MATCHES
RR WON : 11, DC WON : 11
It’s the battle between the two prodigious talents. The two young Indian WK-batsmen will lead their sides in what is expected to be another high-octane encounter in the IPL.
Rajasthan Royals have officially confirmed that Ben Stokes has been ruled out of the IPL. They were already without their pace spearhead Jofra Archer and now this comes as another huge blow and could possibly hinder their chances of making it into the playoffs.
Delhi Capitals, on the other hand, face similar issues due to Covid–19. Anrich Nortje and Kagiso Rabada still aren’t available for selection due to some delay in the former’s Covid test report. They will still be without their all-rounder Axar Patel who hasn’t recovered from the bout of Covid-19.
With Ben Stokes missing out, Jos Buttler is expected to open the innings alongside Manan Vohra. David Miller and Liam Livingstone have completed their quarantine and are available for selection. Liam Livingstone could be drafted into the middle order. He had an excellent BBL season and can hit sixes with ease. In Royals’ last game, their captain Sanju Samson played out of his skin and nearly pulled off an improbable chase. RR would hope to see more of this from their captain. Left arm pacer Chetan Sakariya returned with impressive figures of 3/31 on his debut picking up the wickets KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal in the process.
DC won their first match of the season against CSK without breaking a sweat. Openers Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw looked in supreme touch and laid the foundation of their victory. Even without any of their first choice bowlers, they restricted CSK to a sub-200 total. Expect them to go in with the same bowling line-up.
It is expected to be another high scoring encounter at the Wankhede stadium. The last game saw 438 runs being scored with 24 sixes. The team winning the toss would want to field first.
