SRH vs RCB, Match 54 – IPL 2022 Report: Royal Challengers Bangalore handed Sunrisers Hyderabad their fourth straight loss in Indian Premier League 2022.
Choosing to bat first, RCB lost Virat Kohli off the very first ball of the match! Jagadeesha Suchith delivered his captain’s faith in the first over. Faf du Plessis and Rajat Patidar put on a 105-run stand of the second wicket before Patidar was removed by Suchith in his final over.
Faf du Plessis smacked a well anchored 73* for his team while Maxwell and Karthik slogged through to help RCB to 192/3 in 20 overs. Dinesh Karthik’s 30* in just 8 balls including 22 runs off the last 4 deliveries of the innings by Fazalhaq Farooqi who made his IPL debut. Farooqi finished with bowling figures of 4-0-47-0.
Chasing 194 runs to win, SRH were off to a worst possible start. Captain Kane Williamson was run out for a diamond duck while Abhishek Sharma was bowled out for a duck by Glenn Maxwell.
Rahul Tripathi and Aiden Markram put a handy 50-run stand for the third wicket to bring normalcy to the chase, but leg spinner Wanindu Hasaranga toppled the SRH batting line up removing Markram, Pooran, Suchith, Shashank Singh and Umran Malik to spell doom! Hasaranga finished with bowling figures of 4-1-18-5 – It is his best bowling figures in T20 career.
Rahul Tripathi waged a lone battle but was dismissed shortly after he scored yet another fabulous half ton in the tournament. SRH were bowled out for 125 runs and RCB registered a big win to seek revenge for the 68 all out SRH inflicted upon them!
