MI vs SRH, Match 65 – IPL 2022 Report: After losing their first 3 matches, Sunrisers Hyderabad made a strong statement by winning their next 5 matches. The ecstasy fizzled out soon as the team from Hyderabad lost their next 5 matches with their playoff chances totally left in the open hanging! SRH returned to winning ways against Mumbai Indians at Wankhede.

Sunrisers were put to bat first and scored 193/6 in 20 overs. Priyam Garg played his first match of the season as he opened with Abhishek Sharma. Garg scored 42 off 26 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes to give SRH a solid start. He put on a 78-run stand with Rahul Tripathi in 7.1 over for the second wicket to give the team a strong start. Tripathi bashed the bowlers at will smacking a 76 in 44 balls with 9 fours & 3 sixes. Nicholas Pooran gave him a good support as the duo put on a 76-run stand for the third wicket in just 7 overs! Pooran scored 38 off 22 balls with the help of 3 fours and 2 sixes before Riley Meredith got him – thanks a brilliant catch in the deep by Mayank Markande.

MI all-rounder Ramandeep pulled things back by picking 3 wickets as SRH were restricted below 200 on a fine batting track.

MI openers started the chase off brilliantly – Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan put on a 95-run partnership in 10.4 overs before Washington Sundar removed Rohit. Umran Malik conceded many extras and runs in his first over but came back well to removed Ishan Kishan. In his third over he removed Tilak Varma and Daniel Sams to reduce MI to 127/4 in 15 overs.

Tim David took the onus on himself to deliver for him team. He smashed 4 sixes in T Natarajan over to reduce the equation to 19 runs to win in 13 balls, but a moment of madness to retain strike David ran himself out! Needing 19 runs to win in 2 overs – Captain Kane Williamson brought in his most reliable bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Bhuvneshwar delivered yorker after yorker to Jasprit Bumrah after removing Sanjay Yadav off the second delivery – A Maiden Over in the 19th over!

Fazalhaq Farooqi had to defend 19 runs off the final over against Ramandeep Singh and he executed it to give his team a 3-run win!
