The player who scores the most runs in an edition wins the orange cap, it is one of the most renowned awards of the IPL and has been won by many great legends of cricket.

The right-handed batsman and wicketkeeper KL Rahul has given an enormous amount of effort with the bat for the IPL with 2647 runs under his name with a strike rate of 135.81

He was the honorable winner of the orange cap in the last edition of the IPL with 670 runs. He gave some impactful knocks during the IND vs AUS tour of 2020, however lost his form during the T20I series against England this March, and was even dropped for the 5th match after displaying extremely poor performances in the first four matches. Although soon he made a comeback in the ODI series with a memorable 62 off 43 followed by a century in the next match.

He’s our No1 Contender Of The Orange Cap this season.

2. Virat Kohli

The Indian Cricket Team and RCB captain Virat Kohli is a right-handed batsman, regarded as one of the best players of all time and arguably the best ODI player of all time considering his unbelievable record of remaining the No1 ODI batsman for 4+ years.

He too lost his form during the England T20I series for a couple of matches but made a comeback in the 3rd T20I against ENG.

He is the highest run-scorer in the history of IPL with 5878 runs under his name with a strike rate of 130.73. In the 2016 edition of the IPL he won the orange cap, opened for RCB, and scored 973 runs with the help of 4 centuries and a strike rate of 152.03 leading RCB to the finals of the edition, these were the most runs scored in a single edition by a player.

This IPL he’s planning to open for RCB again and we believe he has the ability to win this cap once more.

He has scored 1619 runs in the IPL with a strike rate of 134.80. He won the orange cap of IPL 2018 by scoring 735 runs with significant performances and 8 half-centuries.

He’s a very strong contender for the cap this year too as he’s in terrific form since quite some time.

Rishabh Pant is a left-handed middle-order batsman who plays for Delhi Capitals in the IPL. He has provided Delhi with tremendous knocks over the past few years and has come out as one of the most promising and talented youngster among so many other players.

He has scored 2079 runs in the IPL with a strike rate of 151.97. In 2018 he scored 684 runs for Delhi, he even hit a century and remained not out towards the very end, since then he’s seen giving wonderful knocks from time to time. The 2020 edition of the IPL didn’t go very well for him, in fact, he barely contributed for the team throughout the tournament, he wasn’t selected for the limited-over series against AUS, but came back with a bang in the test series and was named the man of the match for the 4th and final match of the test series.

We believe he can continue this form in the IPL too and win the cap for the first time.
