Fans divided over Ben Stokes run out review!
Ben Stokes run out review was under the scanner after fans were divided over the close call that saved the English all-rounder in the guise of “Benefit of Doubt”.
The event happened in the 5th ball of the 26th over bowled by Bhuvneshwar Kumar when Stokes clipped through mid-wicket and called for 2 runs. He looked a bit casual on his way back to the second run and Kuldeep effected a sharp throw to Rishabh Pant from deep mid-wicket. The third Umpire reckoned the replays were not conclusive and benefit of doubt went to the batsman.
Ben Stokes was on 31 runs in 26 balls when this happened – with England score on 168-1 in 26.4 overs. Stokes went on to score 99 runs in 52 balls which massively determined the outcome of the match.
Netizens and cricketers were divided over the decision while Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh believed it was out.
Some fans were sarcastic enough to deal with the umpire’s decision:
What did you think about the decision. Comment in your opinions!
