Jadeja out of Test Series with fractured thumb

Team India faced a big blow on Saturday in the form of ace all-round Ravindra Jadeja being ruled out of Test series with fractured thumb. He is advised to take a rest of at least 6 weeks.

Earlier on Day 3 of Sydney Test, Jadeja was struck flush on his gloves by a vicious Mitchell Starc bouncer. The Indian all-rounder continued to bat in pain and remained not out as India were bowled out for 244 runs in the first innings. Jadeja didn’t come to field in Australia’s 2nd innings.

Scans revealed that Jadeja suffered a left thumb fracture and is set to be sidelined for 4-6 weeks. This comes as a major blow to Team India as they would be a bowler and batsman down in the on-going Test at Sydney.
